Academic Background

​

William West Seegmiller's educational background started at UC Davis. He attended UC Davis and earned a BA in Political Science.

​

After completing his undergraduate degree at the prestigious University of California, he attended the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific, the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and the Rick J. Caruso School of Law at Pepperdine University.

​

He went on to get degrees in law from Fielding Graduate University, Trial Lawyers College, and Harvard Law School.

The Law Faculty at McGeorge

​

West Seegmiller attended and graduated from the University of the Pacific's McGeorge School of Law. He graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from McGeorge School of Law. He participated in moot court and was published in the Pacific Law Review. The American Bar Association accredits the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific.

​

The McGeorge School of Law of Sacramento, California, is a part of UOP located on the Oak Park campus. Seegmiller began his legal education at the University of the Pacific's McGeorge School of Law in 1976, where he would earn his degree four years later in 1980.

​

Southern California University

​

In Los Angeles, Seegmiller attended the University of Southern California. A Master of Real Estate was on the agenda for the lawyer and philanthropist, so he enrolled at the state's first private research institution.

From 2007 to 2009, the Seegmiller Law Firm's founder attended the illustrious school to earn his Master of Real Estate degree.

​

William West Seegmiller attended graduate school at Pepperdine University 8 years after first enrolling there. In 2017, he graduated from Pepperdine University's Rick J. Caruso School of Law in Los Angeles County, California, where he had been enrolled in the Advanced Law program.

He maintains strong ties to the school and gives generously to the scholarship fund.

​

Achievements in the Workplace

​

William Seegmiller has an impressive resume, highlighted by a plethora of seven- and eight-figure wins and a total of over $150 million in settlements and verdicts.

​

Philanthropists and personal injury lawyers are also highly demanding as a speaker. He is frequently invited to talk at prestigious law schools around the country. One of Seegmiller's specialties is mediation, and it's critical for keeping things as peaceful as possible during legal proceedings.

​

After studying hard and passing the bar, he opened a legal practice and spent the next 35 years successfully representing clients in everything from traffic tickets to wrongful death suits. He has a track record of winning substantial verdicts in litigation against multi-national businesses.

​

Recognizing Achievement with Awards

​

2016, William West Seegmiller took home the Golden Advocate Award for Largest Verdict. The $40 million damages judgment he won for a single client earned him the Golden Advocate Award. In the same year, the Litigator Awards website put him in the top one percent of all attorneys in the United States.

​

The following year, the American Institute recognized him as one of the best lawyers in North America. He held a Distinguished rating from Martindale-Hubbell and was named to the American Academy of Jurisprudence's Premier 100 list.

Contributions to Charity

​

West Seegmiller takes pride in being involved in the local community and in his many charitable contributions. He is a regular donor to the scholarship funds of his alma mater, Pepperdine University, and the Thomas Jefferson School of Law. The prominent attorney has been a Boy Scouts of America member and a sponsor of the Special Olympics for many years.

​

He's quite the arts supporter, having funded a dancer at the world-famous Bolshoi Ballet and given money to many other theater groups. In the past, he lent his assistance to raise $50 million to expand Markham Stouffville Hospital, owned and operated by Oak Valley Health. As a result of his donation, the hospital was better able to meet the requirements of the expanding neighborhood.

Work Done by Volunteers

​

William Seegmiller is an active member of several international volunteer organizations. Help for suffering families in Cuba, Guatemala, and Mexico is all part of these plans. Together with the Mexican charity Corazón, he built houses for low-income families. The centrality of independence is hammered home repeatedly throughout Corazón.

​

With the help of dedicated volunteers in both the United States and Mexico, the organization is constructing houses and providing access to education for children in Mexico's poorest neighborhoods. Seegmiller has also traveled to Cuba on multiple occasions to deliver much-needed dental and medical supplies to deserving families.

​

Today's selfless legal guru gives his services to the nonprofit Reinhart Foundation. The mission of the Reinhart Foundation is to fulfill the wishes of terminally sick children.

​

Passions and Hobbies

​

William West Seegmiller is a private pilot with many interests outside of work and charity.

 

His interests include aviation, literature, and exploration; he has already cruised the Northwest Passage and traveled to Antarctica. He's a writer who contributed to a popular book about the keys to running a successful company.

​

He is a supporter of the arts and an avid moviegoer who has also worked as an executive producer on various films.

 

 Both Atone (2019) and Maximum Achievement: The Brian Tracy Story (2017) featured him, earning him a Golden Reel Award for his contributions.

 

West Seegmiller just returned from a successful climb of Mount Everest, where he turned 72 and celebrated with friends and family.
